Product Description

Sunflowers have been become an iconic symbol of van Gogh's work. Many of his Sunflower paintings were done in the Yellow House in Arles and were used to decorate the room he created for Gauguin.  The vibrant colors and simplistic beauty of the paintings have led many artists to try and duplicate their beauty.  The Sunflowers Master Kitz includes all the tools your child needs to create their own Sunflowers masterpiece and the learning materials to deepen their understanding of van Gogh the artist and the time he spent in Arles.   Each Sunflowers Master Kitz contains:

  • A sturdy, re-usable art tool box with magnetic closures
  • 3 Custom Acrylic Paints (child friendly)
  • 1 van Gogh Roller specially designed to replicate van Gogh’s active stroke
  • 2 re-usable Sunflower stencils
  • 1 foam paint brush
  • 2 pieces deluxe art paper
  • Fun, easy-to-understand van Gogh learning materials
  • Easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions

  1. great for kids and adults 4 Star Review

As other people have mentioned, you can also do this on canvas boards, to hang! My grandkids have loved these kits, as do it. Hardest ones are using pastels, which require kids to shade easily....but a learning process I've enjoyed throughout this season with all ages of kids, from 5- 10. A little adult prep with stencils and tape helps....but my 7 yr old granddaughter did it all by herself in little time. Her
2.5 yr old brother used the rollers to make his own masterpiece....I'd say a great time for all, and so informational. Can hardly wait for more of these, as art therapist and grandmother/teacher.

  2. This is awesome! 5 Star Review

This kit actually re-produces, in a manner of speaking, the very famous Van Gogh painting. This particular painting is my daughter's favorite. She was thrilled with it and because the techniques are reuseable, I believe she will be painting sunflowers for a long while!

  3. No complaints 4 Star Review

Gave as birthday gift-bought 'Starry Night' for my 8 yr old grandson and he loved it-did a great job on it too--warning, very messy

  4. Great results 5 Star Review

This kit is even better then the Starry Night Kit -- it's fun to have both.

Only one child can use the kit at a time, but the plastic stencils are re-usable to infinity. The kit comes with two pieces of paper 16X20 -- if you have more children, you will need more paper.

Each created painting resembles Vincent's Sunflowers, but each child adds their own touches, as well. Great Spring Break activity.

Parent note: Takes a dedicated space for rolling out paint, placing used stencils, and letting the paintings dry -- plan ahead and save your newspapers. You don't want to start this on your kitchen table and then have no place to eat dinner, eh?

Recommend these recent books on Van Gogh, and I recommend the "Starry Night" Master Kitz, too:
